NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will conduct public gatherings and a roadshow in Delhi on Saturday, January 25, as part of the campaign activities before the Delhi assembly polls scheduled for early February.
Shah's itinerary encompasses two public gatherings and a roadshow at vital spots in the city-- a pioneering public engagement considering the elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly on February 5.
The planned public gatherings are set to occur in Rajouri Garden and Trinagar Assembly constituencies, whilst the roadshow will take place in the Adarsh Nagar vicinity.
The initial public gathering is scheduled in the Rajouri Garden Assembly constituency during afternoon hours, where Shah will communicate with locals and party members about crucial matters and developmental schemes.
Subsequently, the minister will join a roadshow in the Adarsh Nagar Assembly constituency, stretching from Keval Park to Ramlila Maidan. The procession is anticipated to attract substantial public attendance, showcasing Shah's community engagement initiatives.
The day's activities will end with a second public gathering at DDA Park in Netaji Subhash Palace, situated in the Trinagar Assembly constituency, planned for the evening. This venue will provide Shah another opportunity to interact with citizens and outline prospective plans for Delhi's residents should the Bharatiya Janata Party secure victory in the Assembly elections.
Delhi comprises 70 assembly constituencies in total -- 58 general seats and 12 constituencies designated for scheduled castes (SC).
The polling will be conducted in one phase across all 70 constituencies on February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8. The current Delhi legislative assembly term concludes on February 23, 2025.
