"As per inquiry conducted so far, Kaushik, along with his manager, Santosh Rai, came to Delhi on March 8 at 10am and stayed at the residence of his friend, Vikas Malu, at A-5 Pushpanjali in Bijwasan," Additional DCP (southwest Delhi) Rajeev Kumar said.
Rai told the cops that they had celebrated Holi till 3 pm and then retired for rest. "There was no party at evening or night. Around 9 pm, Kaushik took dinner, and after walking, he went to his bedroom and watched some movie clips on his iPad," Kumar said.
At 12 midnight, he called Rai, who was staying in the adjoining room, and complained about uneasiness and chest pain. He was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The house where Kaushik stayed had been thoroughly checked by the police. "Nothing suspicious or objectionable was found at the spot or from the room of the victim. Only some medicines were found," Kumar said.
All witnesses who accompanied him were examined and their statements were recorded. CCTV footage from the spot was being examined.
