New Delhi:
Delhi Police began cracking down on the online sale of prohibited items, warning e-commerce platforms against allowing illegal goods to be listed and delivered through their networks.
At a meeting held on Wednesday, senior police officer from Crime Branch interacted with nodal officers of major platforms such as Big Basket, Flipkart, Amazon, Swiggy, Blinkit, Snapdeal, Reliance Retail, Tata 1mg, Netmeds, Nykaa, IndiaMART and Porter, along with officials from the drugs control department. Police said that this action was because of the increasing availability of items like firecrackers, knives and other contraband on online marketplaces.
Nodal officers were told to ensure stricter seller verification and closer coordination with law enforcement agencies.
