NEW DELHI: Delhi government's SC/ST welfare minister Raaj Kumar Anand on Friday wrote to Delhi University vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh demanding a reduction of cutoff marks for SC students to fill vacant seats at the varsity.

Stating that the new mode of admissions, where marks obtained by aspirants in the Common University Entrance Test was proving to be a hurdle for reserved category students, Anand said, "In the current year, around 6,000 seats are lying vacant because the same process is not being followed for admissions."
