NEW DELHI: The green area in Delhi has "significantly" increased as a result of several initiatives under the leadership of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, said Delhi environment minister
Gopal Rai who will review a special tree plantation campaign in a meeting with the departments concerned on February 21.
Meanwhile, Rai chaired a high-level meeting with senior officers of the forest department on Friday at the Delhi Secretariat
He reiterated that due to the efforts of the government, Delhi's green area, which was 20% in 2013, expanded to 23.6% in 2021.
Delhi has also surpassed other cities in the country in terms of per-capita forest cover, he said.
