Delhi likely to receive rain, thunderstorms on May 11, 12
New Delhi: The national capital experienced a slight temperature rise, while the Met expected another western disturbance to bring respite before the heat could return. A yellow alert was issued by IMD, predicting rain and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday.
The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 36.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.8 degrees Celsius.
“A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from May 10. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-4 degrees during next 3 days and fall by about 2 degrees thereafter. Gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees during next 3 days and no large change thereafter,” stated IMD.
The maximum temperature was expected to go up to 38 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 39 degrees Celsius on Monday and 37 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
The air quality was moderate with an air quality index (AQI) at 116 on Saturday against 100 or satisfactory a day earlier.
