Delhi govt IAS officer removed from service
New Delhi: The central govt has removed Padma Jaiswal, a 2003-batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre currently posted in Delhi govt as special secretary, administrative reforms department, on charges of corruption.
An official said that the removal was ordered after final approval from the President on the recommendation of the department of personnel and training, which handles the services matters of the AGMUT cadre officials.
Jaiswal was posted in Arunachal Pradesh as deputy commissioner, West Kameng district in 2007. Some preliminary inquiry was conducted on the basis of a complaint against the applicant. The applicant was placed under suspension in April 2008 which was on the basis of a complaint in Feb 2008 by some locals of Kameng regarding “misappropriation of govt revenue and misuse of official position”. The MHA acted against her under the rule 8 of All India services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969.
Later, the disciplinary authority obtained UPSC’s advice which recommended penalty of removal from service. Thereafter, the MHA passed the final order imposing the penalty of removal from service.
When contacted, Jaiswal told TOI: “The matter is sub judice and there has not been any conviction in the case. I have not been dismissed from service.”
