Delhi fans reach Bieber’s gig under parental supervision

Thanks to the average age of the pop star's fan base, Delhi's Belieber bunch landed in Mumbai for his concert accompanied by harried adults who were trying their best to enjoy the Bieber Fever.

I am no big fan of Justin Bieber and my daughter is the only reason I am in Mumbai to attend the concert.As a parent who is just arranging everything, it hasn’t been all fun. First, I bought the tickets worth some Rs30,000 (Rs15,000 each). I bought the tickets online and I was told that the tickets would be delivered at my home. But at the last minute I was told that I have to collect tickets when I reach the venue. I started from my hotel in the Town area in Mumbai at around 12.30pm to reach the venue on time. I thought I would reach in an hour, but traffic is crazy in Mumbai. I was not able to cover even half the distance in one hour. I am so done with this Bieber now and I am upset with everyone around me.

I have come here with my kids – my son is 17 and my daughter is 15 – and both of them are the biggest fans of Justin Bieber. Arranging everything took so much time. Parenting is not easy now – you have to take kids to concerts too. But since both of them are such big fans of Justin Bieber, we could not have missed it. It’s like a short vacation for us.

It's nice to see these crazy fans – all youngsters. And 80% of them are girls who are decked up and are not even bothered about the heat. I came for the concert with both my daughters who love Bieber. Even hours before the concert, thousands have gathered here and not just girls, even parents are so excited.

We came in the morning and the flight was jam-packed. There are so many parents here. The only song that I know is Baby Baby. I was just asking my 13-year-old daughter if I can buy a book or something to read the lyrics and know what he is singing. I don't know anything about him, but his fans are crazy for sure.

I wanted to make my 18-year-old son happy as he is crazy about Bieber. So I planned a two-day trip to Mumbai with my son to attend his concert. I didn’t want to send him alone. My son is studying at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, and there are around 100 students from the school who are here to attend Bieber’s concert. My son has his own group of friends, and most of them are here with their parents. I don't know how much I will enjoy the concert, but it is interesting to see how his young fans are crazy about him.
