NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday asked officials concerned to make Delhi roads potholes free by October 20 by carrying out a massive drive to revamp all the roads of the

Taking cognisance of the grievances faced by the people, CM on Friday called a high level meeting where he reviewed the condition of the roads and directed the officials to deploy maintenance vans in large numbers so that every area is covered under the special drive. The work of repairing all the potholes will be done within the next 10 days and patch repairs sites within the next 20 days.

Around 1,260km roads are under the PWD and the aim of the drive is to improve the conditions of roads which deteriorated during the rainy season due to high-intensity rainfall.

PWD minister Satyendar Jain asserted the importance of impact-based output and instructed the officials to maintain the pace along with keeping the quality standards in mind.

“Delhi Government has made a comprehensive plan to carry out a complete revamp of all the roads across the length and breadth of Delhi that comes under PWD. We will carry out a special drive for this. The officials will carry out the work in an efficient manner and complete the work within the next 20 days. While maintaining the pace, the officials should also keep the quality standards in mind,” CM said.

Jain directed the officials to ensure that no inconvenience should be faced by people due to the road repairing work of the PWD.

The PWD has conducted a survey in which a number of potholes and patch repair sites were identified. In the drive, the PWD will check the conditions of the roads, repair footpaths and repair all the potholes. Maintenance vans will be deployed in large numbers so that every area is covered in this special drive. Thereafter, regular inspections will be done by officials to check the conditions of all the roads. These measures of the
