NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old property dealer was allegedly shot dead in Jamia Nagar on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Waseem Sattar Ghazi, a resident of Allahdiya cottage in Jamia Nagar.

Police said that they received a call from a hospital regarding the admission of a patient hit by a bullet. He was declared dead on arrival. A team from the local police station rushed to the hospital. Family members of the deceased were informed about the incident.
Police later found that the victim, Ghazi, was riding his motorcycle when unidentified armed men came on a scooty and fired at him near a mosque in Noor Nagar. Then they fled. A case under section 302 (murder) and 25, 27,54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered. “Cops are scanning CCTV footage of nearby areas. The deceased worked as a property dealer in Jamia Nagar,” an officer said. Police are probing the case from all angles, including personal enmity and business disputes.
