new delhi: the delhi high court on friday issued notice to the cricket board directing it to answer to an application of cricketer ajay jadeja seeking the transfer of his case to an arbitration committee or a retired judge. jadeja has sought the transfer for an expeditious decision on his application challenging the ban imposed on him by the board of cricket control of india.
seeking reply from bcci, justice mukul mudgal fixed december 19 as the next date of hearing. jadeja has challenged the ban imposed on him from playing cricket for his alleged invovement in match-fixing scandal. on friday, he submitted an application and said the decision on the case, within a time-frame would be in the interest of the parties and justice. jadeja's counsel vineet malhotra said the five-year ban imposed on the cricketer was affecting his career due to the slow progress of the case and even after a year only a preliminary issue, whether his petition is maintainable or not, has been decided. counsel said the cricketer has no objection to the entire matter being decided by an arbitrator mutually.
