Cousin murders boy, may have tried to rape
GHAZIABAD: A 12-year-old boy was brutally murdered in Ghaziabad, allegedly by his cousin, after he protested against sexual advances made by him.
The police said that the boy was visiting his sister-in-law's family and was sleeping with the accused. At around 3:00am on Saturday morning, the boy's sister-in-law walked into the room to find him lying in a pool of blood, his neck slit and his insides ripped apart.

The police said that a case of murder had been registered against the boy's 19-year-old cousin brother, who fled the scene after the incident. The boy's father alleged that he was murdered after he protested against sexual assault.
The boy had come to his cousin brother's house in Kamal Vihar area of Delhi, adjoining Ghaziabad, about a fortnight back, the police said. He had stayed there for about a week, when his sister-in-law took him to her father's house in Loni.
On Friday night, after having dinner everybody in the house went to sleep. "The boy was sleeping in a room with his sister-in-law's brother, Naushad. His sister-in-law was sleeping outside in the courtyard. This was their usual sleeping arrangement," said a senior police officer. A little before 3:00am, the sister-in-law woke up and went to the room where the two boys were sleeping. When she entered the room and switched on the light, she saw the 12-year-old boy lying dead. Naushad was missing, said the police.

She immediately informed the family, who informed the police. The police arrived at the residence around 4:00am. A knife was found in the room, which is the alleged murder weapon.
A case of murder was registered at the Loni Police station by the deceased's father, Mausam Ali, naming Naushad as the accused. Naushad is currently absconding.
Meanwhile senior police officers said that while the motive behind the murder can only be established after apprehending the 19-year-old boy, the possibility of murder because of refusal of sexual advances cannot be ruled out. "It is possible that the 12-year-old refused sexual advances made by his cousin brother, which led to the murder," said a senior police officer.
