NEW DELHI: A trial court on Monday reserved the order on discharge of a two Kashmiri youth, who were falsely implicated by the special cell as terrorist from the banned militant outfit Al-badr. The additional Session Judge S K Gautam will also decide on Feb 13 if proceedings should be initiated against accused police officials.
The CBI on Monday argued before the court that special cell has no authority to question the high court order on discharge of the two persons -- Irshad Ali & Mohd Muarif Qamar -- who have been lodged in Tihar jail since 2006.
They were arrested from near Mubarka Chowk in northwest Delhi in 2006. It was alleged that, Mohammed Muarif Qamar and Irshad Ali, had been paid by their commanders to effect bomb blasts at busy marketplaces in the city. More than 2 kg RDX, Chinese pistols and several timers and detonators were seized from their hideout at Sultanpuri. Both of them are Indian nationals and belong to Darbhanga in Bihar. The special cell of Delhi Police claimed that both of them had visited J&K several times to arrange for explosives and arms.
