NEW DELHI: Family members of a 33-year-old man, who died in a road accident involving a rashly driven vehicle in 2013, was awarded a compensation of over Rs 63 lakh by a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT).
MACT presiding officer Nikhil Chopra directed the national insurance co ltd, insurer of the offending trailer, to pay Rs 63,39,600 to the family of victim Manish Jha, who was working as the sales manager in a motor vehicle firm .
“The deceased was 33 at the time of the accident and a father of two. His death has left a permanent void in the lives of the petitioners and no amount of money can fill the void. However, life has to move on,” the tribunal said. PTI
