Court extends judicial remand of two serial blasts accused

NEW DELHI: A city court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of two suspected IM terrorists, accused of carrying out serial blasts in city on September 13 last year, by 14 days.
CMM Cavern Baweja sent Akbar Ismail Choudhary, who was brought to the capital from Hyderabad on June 11, and Hafiz to judicial custody till July 10. Arrested by the Mumbai police on October five last year, Choudhary is accused of sending terror e-mails along with IM's media cell head Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy and two others to different media houses immediately before the blasts in the capital on September 13 last year.The court, meanwhile, issued production warrants against remaining 10 suspected IM terrorists for July 10 as they were not brought before it. The accused, against whom the warrants have been issued are Zeeshan Ahmed, Mohd Shakeel, Saquib Nissar, Zia-Ur Rehman, Mohd Saif, Mohd Sadiq Sheikh, Quamuddin Kapadia, Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, Mobin Kader Sheikh and Asif Bashir Sheikh. Saif, Sadiq and Quamuddin are in the custody of the Gujarat police while Peerbhoy, Mobin and Asif are in Maharashtra for their alleged involvement in other cases. The police have already filed chargesheets in the five cases registered in connection with the serial blasts that had claimed the lives of 26 persons and left over 100 injured.
