new delhi: the union government on friday told the delhi high court that it was ready to resume counselling for admissions to masters in dental surgery (mds) course at the all india institute of medical sciences (aiims). the counselling had been stalled following an earlier petition by some doctors alleging leakage of question papers for post-graduate entrance examination of aiims.
these doctors had appeared for the entrance examination held on january 6 and alleged that solved paper were available two days prior to examination on payment of rs 75,000. disposing the petition by mds aspirants, the court said the director general health services (dghs) would ensure that the seats for mds which are yet to be filled up would not be surrendered to the states. aiims’ counsel mukul gupta told the court that after receiving the dghs notification for the counselling, the concerned candidates would be informed within three days. the petition filed on behalf of the students seeking admission to the mds said the question papers of masters of surgery and pg diploma were allegedly leaked and not of the dental course. government has ordered a cbi probe into the alleged leakage.
