, the incident took place around 7pm when the

girl

and her brother were heading towards Wazirabad area from Burari.

"As per the complainant, the accused approached them in a car, asked for directions to Wazirabad and offered them a lift upto Wazirabad, to which the siblings agreed. When they reached Wazirabad, the girl asked the trio to stop the car but they did not," said a police officer.

The men then opened the door and pushed the boy out. "The boy, who had sustained injuries, then immediately approached a PCR van deployed nearby which further alerted other vans in the area. He told them that the accused had fled with his sister towards Shahdara flyover. After about a five kilometre long chase, we managed to nab them near Gita Ghat," said the police.

New Delhi: After more than six kilometres of chase, a PCR van averted an abduction attempt by three youths in north Delhi's Geeta Ghat area on Friday evening and saved a 19-year-old girl. Police have arrested three accused who tried to flee away with the girl on the pretext of dropping her and her brother near Wazirabad.

The accused have been identified as Sachin Choudhary (32), Shiv kumar (32) and Saurabh (34). According to the police, the incident took place around 7pm when the girl and her brother were heading towards Wazirabad area from Burari.

"As per the complainant, a Santro car bearing registration number DL 9C A 0926, with three occupants in it, approached them and asked for directions to Wazirabad. The trio offered the girl and her brother a drop up to Wazirabad flyover asking them if they were heading in the same direction. To this, the duo agreed. She said, that when they reached Wazirabad, the girl asked the trio to stop the car by they did not," said a senior police officer.

On this, the girl's brother retaliated and started unlocking the door of the vehicle. She said that the men then opened the door and pushed the boy out. They had also snatched two mobiles and Aadhar card from the boy before throwing him out near a CNG pump.

"The boy, who had sustained injuries, then immediately approached a PCR van deployed nearby which further alerted other vans in the area. He told them that the accused had fled with his sister towards Shahadra flyover. The PCR staff, ASI Mahindar Singh and Head Constable Jagdish along with the boy chased the accused's car and after about a five kilometre long chase managed to nab them near Gita Ghat," the police said.

Police have arrested the three accused under relevant sections for robbery, abduction and assault. "A case has been registered under relevant sections and the matter is being looked into," the officer said.
