NEW DELHI: Delhi Congress president Anil Chaudhary on Wednesday alleged that the BJP and AAP authorities had failed in checking both the spread of Covid-19 and air pollution in the city.
Chaudhary said the mayors of the BJP-run municipal corporations and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal were indulging in shadow boxing by levelling charges and counter-charges, and “fixing” to cover up their failures and fool the people.

Kejriwal’s claim that police had put him under “house arrest” to prevent him from joining Tuesday’s Bharat bandh was a big lie, he alleged. Kejriwal doesn’t want to clear the corporations’ dues or support the farmers’ cause openly as he had already endorsed the farm Acts as evident from the AAP government’s notification of one of these laws on November 23, Chaudhary added.
He said Delhi government had cut down on development budgets and, as a result, after the Congress government, all development work had come to a grinding halt. The corporations, he alleged, can’t even meet the budgetary requirements and have failed to tap new revenue sources due to corruption. He claimed the level of corruption was exposed recently when a BJP councillor was caught while demanding a bribe.
