New Delhi: The national media convener of
BJP, Shivam Chhabra, filed a police
complaint
against
Kanhaiya
Kumar and
JNU professor
Nivedita Menon on Wednesday. Chhabra alleged that Kumar and Menon had insulted the country and Kumar had violated his bail conditions by speaking about anti-national elements.
Senior officers said probe will begin once there is an FIR.
In his complaint, Chhabra alleged that Kumar had addressed a gathering on International Women’s Day and uttered “poisonous words against the Indian Army” .
“Kumar and Menon are trying to incite feelings of hatred and contempt of the public against the Indian armed forces and indirectly against the government of India....” the complaint read.
Kumar, though, clarified to
TOI that he was only speaking about human rights violations and atrocities against women world over.
“Yes, we are against AFSPA and rape by security personnel. This is not a general comment on our forces, but against those who commit these crimes,” he said.
