Complaint filed against Barkha Singh
New Delhi: Chief of Delhi Congress women's wing, Barkha Shukla Singh who is the former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women now faces the scrutiny of Delhi Commission For Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) after it received a complaint against her and "others" for involving children in a political protest outside chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's house on October 20.

The DCPCR is looking into the allegations made in the complaint.
In the complaint made by Anuj Bhatti from Chattarpur area, it stated, "On October 20, the leaders of women wing of Indian National Congress, Delhi unit lodged a protest outside chief minister's residence at Civil Lines. The protest was led by Barkha Singh and other women leaders. She had brought in 20-30 small children of age group 7-14 years in this protest."
Bhatti tries to justify the complaint by saying that he believes "it is unethical and illegal to use innocent children for cheap political stunts". He has also raised concern about the possible dangers children faced in case of a police action in a protest situation.
When contacted, Barkha Singh was seen distancing herself from the matter. "I don't know where the children came from and who brought them. Maybe the women who came for the protest brought their children along," Singh said.
She, however, admitted that the protest was organised by the state Congress women's wing which she leads, and went one step further by saying that she too felt children should not be involved in any political protest and it was wrong to do so.
