NEW DELHI: BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday, calling it the biggest anti-Hindu and anti-Sanatana party.
He accused AAP of taking away the permission to burn crackers during Diwali, leading to a cracker-free celebration.
Poonawalla also claimed that AAP is trying to stop people of India from performing Chhath Puja by polluting the Yamuna River.
He also highlighted the failed promise of AAP to clean the Yamuna by 2025, stating that it's now impossible to even go near the river.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday declined to allow devotees to perform Chhath Puja on the banks of the Yamuna, warning that the river was highly contaminated and unsafe to enter.
Thick, toxic foam was seen floating on the Yamuna River at Kalindi Kunj on Thursday morning, as pollution levels in the river remain high.
