<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">NEW DELHI: A six-year-old boy got injured after their school van was hit by a Maruti car in Dwarka on Saturday afternoon. A police officer said the six-year-old boy, Akhil has suffered bruises on his head. He was admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital where he received six stitches on his forehead.<br /><br />The police later arrested the 55-year-old doctor, A K Rastogi.
The accused is a retired employee of Cement Corporation of India. "He took voluntary retirement and is a resident of Kailash Apartments in Dwarka, sector 4," said a police officer.<br /><br />He claimed that Rastogi was driving fast when he hit the school van near the crossing of sector 4 and 12. Rastogi fled from the spot after the accident. The police traced him since one of the eye-witnesses had noted his car’s registration number.<br /><br />"There were 13 children in the Maruti van. All study with St Grigorias school in sector 11, Dwarka," said the officer. According to him, the accident occurred when the children were on their way back home.<br /><br />"The van driver had some presence of mind. He could foresee a mishap and, therefore, applied the brakes on time even as the car hit it," said an officer.<br /><br />In another accident, a man died in north Delhi after an ambassador hit him on Friday afternoon. The car’s driver, 70-year-old Ajmer Singh was arrested. Singh was his way to Ashok Vihar where he had to drop 12 students of DPS school, Mathura Road.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
