NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old boy was severely injured in outer Delhi’s Mohan Garden on Wednesday when a bullet fired near him ricocheted off the ground and hit him on his neck. The shooter fled after the incident.

“A quarrel ensued between two neighbours, identified as Subhash and Sarwar Noor, in Mohan Garden around 4pm.

As the two men were firing, Noor’s son came on a motorcycle with one more person. Soon, public gathered and the matter was resolved,” a police officer said.
Just when Noor was leaving, an unidentified man who came with Noor’s son fired from his pistol to threaten everyone. He fired the shot on the ground. The bullet then ricocheted off the ground and hit Kuldeep who was sitting a few meters away. The bullet hit the boy’s neck, knocking him unconscious. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he being treated for his injury.
Police officers said that the man fled after firing the weapon. Subhash and Noor and are being questioned to get information about the shooter. CCTV footage from the area is also being analysed to determine the identity of the accused.
