While Vikas was a student of class IX, Suraj was studying in class X. "Both of them died instantly. In fact, some mutilated remains of their bodies were found scattered almost two kilometres from the spot," said a police officer.
The police said that some fellow students of the victims managed to identify the victims. "One of them heard a cry and they rushed to the spot. They managed to identify Suraj and Vikas by their school bags which were lying at the crossing," said an officer.
The victims were residents of Azadpur. Their father, Naveen Jha, works with a factory in Jahangirpuri. The unmanned railway crossing at Shalimar Bagh is one of nine such crossings in the city.
