Speaking at a press conference in the Shakur Basti area, the former chief minister accused the BJP of prioritizing land acquisition over the welfare of slum residents.

“They are after your votes now, but after the elections, they’ll be after your land,” Kejriwal said, targeting the BJP.

He also dismissed the BJP’s ‘Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan’ scheme as a mere façade, claiming that only 4,700 flats had been built for slum dwellers in the past five years.

Kejriwal further accused the BJP of planning to displace slum residents without addressing their housing concerns.

“They intend to clear the slums and grab the land, showing no regard for the people who live there,” he added.

Joining Kejriwal at the event was senior AAP leader Satyendar Jain, who is contesting from the Shakur Basti constituency for the fourth time after winning in 2013, 2015 and 2020.
