In Manoj Tiwari’s rally, BJP trains guns at Congress, AAP
New Delhi: Comparing the Congress symbol to demon Bhasmasura's hand, Kompella Madhavi Latha, BJP's firebrand candidate from Hyderabad, said Congress had a "past of burning up anyone wherever it goes”.
She was campaigning for BJP MP and candidate Manoj Tiwari in Burari’s Kamal Vihar on Sunday, which falls under North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
“Congress will drown anyone with whom it collaborates, and in Delhi, it has no future. In fact, AAP is a step ahead and it doesn’t mind insulting and assaulting its own woman MP,” she added.
Expressing disappointment over broken roads and major drains being flooded with garbage in Kamal Vihar, the BJP member asked locals if they wanted the same future for their children. “I was unable to find a road amidst potholes. With so much garbage scattered all over the place, it was difficult to reach this place. It doesn’t look like a part of the capital. AAP MLA seems to have done nothing to improve the standard of living for locals. CM should be asked to live here for a few days,” she said.
Latha is contesting the election against the sitting MP for Hyderabad seat, Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM.
“When Tiwari bhaiya tries to do something, AAP does not let his work proceed. The party that can’t provide better health and infrastructure despite being in power for so many years has no right to ask for votes from the public,” she said. “It is high time to bring not just the MP but even the MLA from BJP in the next assembly elections,” she added.
At another event in Burari, Union minister Giriraj Singh said, “I am a soldier of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and when people say that we talk about Hindu-Muslim issues, I want to ask, has our Manoj Tiwari ever set fire anywhere in Jahangirpuri? Those who have set fire are people of a particular mindset. There is a force working within the country to break it. It is my duty that if anyone conspires to break the country, I will have to answer them too,” he said.
Tiwari told the public that so many schemes launched by the Centre have not yet reached the people of the national capital because of the state govt.
“Delhi govt has a budget of Rs 73,000 crore for the national capital, and each assembly constituency gets around Rs 1,000 crore. If a small amount of this were spent in the area, the situation wouldn’t be like this,” he said.
