NEW DELHI: AAP Rajya Sabha MP
Sanjay Singh has accused the BJP of trying to capture the Delhi CM's residence at 6 Flagstaff Road, which has not yet been allocated to
Atishi.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Singh also alleged that the BJP is trying to break their party.
"In the last few days, the BJP is spreading rumours. They tried many things, to break our party. The BJP has been losing in Delhi for the past 27 years, hence they tried to finish AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, defect its MLAs, but they have failed.
Now when they are not able to win, they want to capture the CM residence.
Arvind Kejriwal vacated the house, there is a proof of it," Singh said.
As a CM, Atishi had to occupy the residence. But it has not been allocated to Atishi. She made it a camp office and started meetings, then they ousted the staff," he added further.
Sanjay Singh's remarks came in response to a letter issued by the Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva in which it was claimed that Arvind Kejriwal had not vacated the infamous 'Sheesh Mahal' bungalow at 6 Flagstaff Road, which has become a symbol of his alleged corruption.
"Four days ago, we all witnessed the drama of Arvind Kejriwal leaving the bungalow, holding his parents' hands, but as per government rules, he still retains possession of the Sheesh Mahal to this day. Kejriwal's theatrics were merely an attempt to gain sympathy, with Sunita Kejriwal handing over the keys to an official, purely for camera display," Sachdeva stated.
Atishi was expected to move into the bungalow on Monday, shortly after her predecessor, Arvind Kejriwal, vacated it and relocated to a new residence in Lutyens' Delhi.
