NEW DELHI: Two people riding a scooty were injured after a speeding Audi car crashed into them near the Jor Bagh Post Office, police said on Tuesday.

The victims, identified as Naitik and Tushar, were rushed to a trauma centre, where Naitik is stable while Tushar remains critical.

Both occupants of the Audi, who are BBA students, have been detained. One was driving the car, while the other was in the passenger seat.

Shubham, a relative of the injured Naitik, told reporters, "The Audi car was coming at a high speed and hit the scooty. The condition of one of the injured is serious, we have not seen Naitik's condition, so we cannot say anything about him, he has an injury in his leg. Both the accused have been caught by the police."

The two suspects in the car have been detained by Delhi police. Officials revealed that both are BBA students.

A case has been registered under sections 281/125(A) and sections 279/337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier on Sunday, a motorcycle rider was killed in an accident involving a truck in Mehrauli, Delhi.

According to Delhi Police, they received a report about the accident near Phool Mandi on 100 Futa Road. Upon arrival, they found a motorcycle trapped under a truck, with one person dead.

The deceased, identified as Sunil Kumar (42), a Rapido motorcycle rider from Chattarpur, Delhi, was traveling towards Mehrauli-Badarpur Road with a pillion rider when he was struck by the truck. Sunil Kumar died at the scene, while the pillion rider was taken to the hospital. The truck driver was arrested by the police.
