NEW DELHI: Delhi experienced its coldest minimum temperature of the season, dropping to 3.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Thick fog covered various areas of the city. The previous day, Delhi had marked a minimum temperature of 3.9 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the past five years.

Saturday's maximum temperature is expected to reach approximately 19 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.

At 5:30am, the visibility at Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, was recorded at 200 meters.

The Railways reported delays of one to six hours for 18 trains bound for Delhi due to fog.
As per the IMD, visibility between 0 and 50 meters is categorized as very dense fog, between 51 and 200 meters as dense, between 201 and 500 meters as moderate, and between 501 and 1,000 meters as shallow.

At 9am, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 365, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
