NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man was killed after being hit by a Thar in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar area, police said on Saturday. The victim, identified as Bechu Lal, was standing with his bike on the roadside on Thursday night when the vehicle struck him.

He died on the spot, officials added. Police said the driver fled from the scene after the collision and a search has been launched to trace him.
The incident comes six days after another fatal crash in central Delhi, where a Thar hit two pedestrians near 11 Murti on Mother Teresa Road. One person was killed and another injured in that incident. In the 11 Murti case, police detained the driver, identified as Ashish, 26, a resident of Shakarpur. The SUV was registered in the name of his friend Ankit Adnani, from Ghaziabad.
