With gangsters like Sandip Dhillu, Jitender Gogi and Vikas Lagarpuria already absconding, police sources fear that gang wars in the capital may intensify.

Nandu was last arrested by a team of Rajasthan Police in May 2016 from Fagi village near Jaipur. He was nabbed along with his associates, Sachin and Gulshan, in the raid. Since then, the

gangster

had been lodged in Haryana’s Bhondsi Jail. He had applied for parole citing some important personal work. His request was accepted and he was granted a one-month parole starting June 24.

After his parole, Nandu’s gang members had thrown a grand party in a farmhouse near Chhawla to celebrate it. The party was busted by Crime Branch leading to the arrest of 15 gangsters, including Nandu’s close associates Vineet and Vicky Dagar, who have multiple cases of murder, attempt to murder, extortion and under Arms Act lodged against them.

Sangwan, however, didn’t turn up at the party. Days later, he went off the police radar and didn’t turn up to surrender after his parole period ended. When cops went to check with his family members, they found that they were also missing. The neighbours didn’t have any knowledge about them.

Sources said Sangwan’s gang has gained notoriety in the past few months. They were found involved in almost all gang-related violence that occurred in southwest and outer Delhi.

The gang’s members were nabbed for murdering aspiring actor and TikTok artiste Mohit Mor in Najafgarh in May. Mor owed Rs 30 lakh to Sangwan’s associates in a property deal. Sandeep Pehelwan, a close associate of Sangwan, demanded the money from Mor and when he did not give it, got him gunned down.

The Nandu gang also came on the police radar during the investigation of a shooting incident in

Dwarka

Sector 12 in which a 30-year-old woman got critically injured. One of the accused, Giri Raj Tomar, is a member of Sangwan’s gang and had jumped parole in January.
