The workers protested the enhancement of penalties under the Motor Vehicles Act and rising unemployment in North Delhi's Tri Nagar.Maken also accused the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government of maintaining silence over the "anti-people" polices of the Modi government at the Centre.

"People are being harassed by the transport policy. Some states like West Bengal, Gujarat and Maharashtra are making changes in the high amount of fines under the amended Motor Vehicle Act. Why is Delhi government silent," he asked.
