Air raid sirens, CPR, and first aid rehearsed for nationwide mock drills amid heightened India-Pak tensions-photos

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered nationwide mock drills for May 7, aimed at testing preparedness for potential emergencies. The drills will simulate various emergency scenarios to evaluate the response capabilities of authorities across states.

Delhi Chief Minister reassured that the capital is fully prepared for the mock drills. The Delhi government is following the central government's directives, ensuring that both the administration and citizens are ready to handle any emergency situations.

As part of the mock drills, an air raid siren test was conducted in various locations. The purpose of this test is to assess how well local authorities can manage responses to air threats and ensure people know the protocols during an emergency.

Students in several areas are being trained to react appropriately during emergencies. The mock drills include educating students on evacuation procedures and how to reach safe zones if an adverse situation arises, particularly in cases of air or ground attacks.

Civil Defence teams are actively preparing for the mock drills, focusing on ensuring smooth operations during potential emergencies. They have conducted meetings to review procedures for protecting citizens, including crowd control, evacuation, and first-aid measures during an air attack.

The mock drills will include operationalizing air raid warning sirens, practicing blackout procedures, and reviewing the evacuation plans for citizens. These measures aim to strengthen civil defense capabilities and ensure public safety during any emergency or hostile situation.

The mock drills come in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, following a recent terror attack. The government has emphasized that these drills will help reinforce the country’s defense systems and enhance preparedness in the event of further hostilities.
