<div class="section0"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-size:="">NEW DELHI: A medical board has been formed by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences to look into the death of a patient at Batra Hospital on Tuesday because of alleged medical negligence.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">"The police is waiting for the autopsy report to lodge an FIR,'''' said deputy commissioner of police (south), Praveer Ranjan.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">Joseph EV (44), a resident of Mehrauli, had died at the hospital in course of a gall bladder operation.
The family had alleged that there was negligence on the part of the treating doctor, Dr R Pandita and they had also alleged that there was an attempt to remove Joseph''s kidney.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="">Medical director, Batra, Brigadier R K Gupta said, "There were attempts by the family to manhandle Dr Pandita immediately after Joseph''s death.'''' He however, refused to comment on the possible cause of the death. "When there is an operation, there are a lot of complications. But now that the medical board has been constituted, I would not like to discuss those possibilities. We would rather wait for the report,'''' he said.</span></div> </div>
