NEW DELHI: Customs officials posted at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport arrested an Afghan national on early Friday morning for allegedly carrying heroin.

NEW DELHI: Customs officials posted at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport arrested an Afghan national on early Friday morning for allegedly carrying heroin.
Mohammad Dawood, an Afghan national, had concealed 2.68 kilogram of contraband in the seams and the handle rods of his hand-baggage.
Dawood was nabbed while he was trying to get his baggage cleared at the arrival lounge.

According to a customs official the contraband costs more than Rs 2 crore in the international market.
"On his personal search our officials also found $6,439. We suspect that the foreign currency is linked to narco trade," said the officer.
