: It was Abu Alkama, an alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander, whotrained the Indian Mujahideen terrorists for the September 13 serial blasts.Alkama was on Friday named accused and added to the most wanted list by theDelhi Police special cell probing the blasts case. In two fresh chargesheetsfiled in this connection, the special cell named three new accused MohammadArif, allegedly involved in several blasts across the country, Saif-ur-Rehman,allegedly involved in Jaipur and Delhi blasts and Alkama of executing the blastswhich claimed 26 lives and left hundreds injured.
While Arif, who iscurrently in the custody of Uttar Pradesh Police, is yet to be arrested by DelhiPolice, Saif-ur-Rehman, a resident of Azamgarh, is absconding.
Filingtwo fresh chargesheets in connection with the cases registered at ConnaughtPlace and Tilak Marg police stations before the chief metropolitan magistrateKaveri Baweja, the police named Mohammad Saif, Zia-ur-Rehman, Mohammad SajidBadaa, Mohammad Khalid, Mirza Shadab Begh and Shazaad alias Pappu as theaccused. The police also filed two supplementary chargesheets against MohammadSadiq, Mohammad Hakim and Qayamuddin Kapadia in connection with the GK and KarolBagh blasts case.
Baweja fixed March 4 as the date for considering thechargesheets.
In the Connaught Place chargesheet, the police accusedZia-ur-Rehman, Khalid, Saif and Sajid as the ones who exectued the blast atCentral Park in Connaught Place. Out of the four, Sajid and Khalid areabsconding. The police have named 110 witnesses in the chargesheet.
In the Tilak Marg chargesheet, the video clipping of Children's Parkshot by Mirza has been taken as key evidence by the police. Investigationsrevealed that the bombs found in a dustbin near India Gate were planted by MirzaShadab Beg and Shahzad, both still at large. According to the police, a localhad informed them about the live bomb.
Meanwhile, in thesupplementary chargesheet filed against Qayamuddin, Hakim and Sadiq inconnection with the blast cases registered at Karol Bagh and Greater Kailashpolice station, the police said during interrogation, Hakim disclosed the nameof Mohammad Arif, who is currently in the custody of the Uttar Pradesh Police.
A total of seven chargesheets including two supplementarychargesheets have been filed by the police in connection with the September 13serial blasts so far. The police have identified a total of 29 accused, e out ofwhom eight have been arrested, four are in custody of police in other states and15 are at large.
The police said that it will be seeking the custodyof Peerbhoy, another accused who was incharge of the media division of IM, fromthe court on Saturday when he will be produced.
The police invokedvarious sections of the IPC, including waging war against the country, in thechargesheets. The accused were also charged under various sections of theExplosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)Act.
