98% of LPG refill bookings being done online now

NEW DELHI: About 98% of LPG refill bookings are taking place digitally, while 94% of deliveries are based on delivery authentication code (DAC) to maintain transparency and prevent diversion of cooking gas, govt said Sunday.Officials said oil marketing companies were continuing to prioritise LPG supply to homes, delivering over 50 lakh domestic cooking gas cylinders a day despite the squeeze on supplies due to the geopolitical situation.

They added that 71% of refills were earlier booked digitally - through mobile apps, IVRS calls and SMS - which rose to nearly 80% in mid-March and has now reached 98%.Similarly, deliveries using DAC rose from 53% in pre-crisis days to 72% in March. It is now at 94%. DAC is received on a consumer's registered mobile number.
