NEW DELHI: A senior citizen was robbed of his
gold
chain and bracelet by two men in northwest Delhi's
Rani Bagh
on Tuesday morning. The men threatened the victim with a gun when he resisted the robbery attempt.
Police said that the man,
Vijay Bansal, had gone for a morning walk near his house at 6.30am when he saw two youths circling around the park.
Bansal
said that the men approached him, asking for directions to a nearby colony . As the men seemed friendly and harmless, he talked to the men while they tried to keep him engaged in the conversation.
Bansal said that suddenly one of the men tried to pull his gold chain. When he pushed the man away, the other person tried to pull his gold bracelet. He tried to run away but one of the accused pulled out a country-made pistol and fired in the air. The men threatened him with the gun to stay quiet and fled with the gold jewellery.
Police was informed and a case was registered. Cops said that they are scanning the
CCTV
footage from the area and are trying to identify the accused men.
