NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man and his teenage nephew were shot dead, and his 10-year-old son was injured, when two armed men opened fire outside their residence in Delhi's Shahdara on Thursday.
The incident took place while the victims were celebrating Diwali outside their house in the Farsh Bazar area around 8 pm.
The victims were identified as Akash Sharma, alias Chottu, and his nephew, Rishabh Sharma, aged 16. Akash's son, Krish Sharma, sustained bullet injuries.
The police received a PCR call at about 8.30 pm and dispatched a team. "The team found blood at the spot," said the official. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers touched Akash Sharma's feet before opening fire. All victims were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared Akash and Rishabh dead, while Krish is receiving treatment.
According to Delhi Police, the accused planned the murder 17 days ago. There are previous cases against both the detained minor and the deceased, Akash, and his family.
As per the probe, there was an ongoing dispute over money between the deceased and the accused.
