A team of Delhi Police picked up two persons from western UP for suspected involvement in the killing of Arun Gupta (47), the Kalkaji businessman and son-in-law of Mittal Garden owner.

NEW DELHI: On Saturday evening, a teamof Delhi Police picked up two persons from western Uttar Pradesh for suspectedinvolvement in the killing of Arun Gupta (47), the Kalkaji businessman andson-in-law of Mittal Garden owner. The two were picked up in a raid in Meerutand Bulandshahr.The police refused to reveal the names of the men."We have a clear lead about those who had been picked but their third accompliceand mastermind behind the crime is yet to be named. So it will be too early todisclose anything," said a senior police official.Meanwhile, onSaturday a psychologist had a meeting with Arun's wife, Sadhana, Dinesh Mittaland his second wife Rekha to understand their state of mind. The police haverecorded the conversation.The police said they have identifiedanother person based on the interrogation of Dinesh Mittal, youngerbrother-in-law of Arun Gupta. Dinesh had been detained for the past five days,and based on his questioning a police team has been conducting a raid in someparts of Faridabad and Delhi to apprehend few other suspects.DineshMittal's elder brother, Sneh Mittal, spoke to Times City about the policequestioning.
"They did not allow us to come back and all the time served anotice under section 160 of CrPC. On Friday evening they released me. My youngerbrother Dinesh Mittal, however, is still being questioned. The police told usthey have made a definite breakthrough but did not say what itis.""During questioning and examination of eyewitnesses, we got toknow that the vehicle used in the crime had Meerut's registration after which ateam was sent there," said a senior police officer. The bike used in the crime,however, has not been seized yet.During a search at Gupta's houseand shop, the police had confiscated papers related to shares and loans besidesseveral properties which were disputed between the Guptas and Mittals. Gupta'swife and brothers were again questioned by the police on Saturday to know abouthis movement in the past ten days.THE CASE SO FAR: On Mondaymorning, Arun Gupta (47) was shot by three unidentified assailants near his Eblock house in Kalkaji. Gupta's wife, Sadhana, daughter of Mittal Garden owner,Madan Lal Mittal had a property dispute with her two brothers and emerged as aprime suspect in the crime.
