New Delhi: Over 500 students from various municipal bodies across the country will be participating in the first ‘National Municipal School Games’ being organised by the south corporation. The two-day event, starting from February 21, will see competitions in various categories, including throwball, table tennis, volleyball, chess, football, kabaddi and kho-kho.
Most of the games will be held at Dr Sahib Singh Verma Stadium while football.
Formally inaugurating the event at Dr Sahib Singh Verma Stadium in Kakrola on Thursday, SDMC mayor Sunita Kangra said that it is aimed at promoting school games and showcasing students’ skills in sports.
Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Pune Corporation are among the many civic bodies participating in the event.
