NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old boy was killed while shopping for clothes with his younger brother and a friend on Thursday night in Jaffarabad, North East Delhi. The police investigation revealed that the perpetrators, who arrived on two scooters, were acquainted with the victim.

DCP North East Joy Tirkey stated, "The incident occurred at 9pm yesterday when a 16-year-old boy had come to buy clothes with his elder brother, who is also a minor. The investigation revealed that three to four boys had come on two scooters and knew the deceased."

According to Tirkey, the accused attempted to persuade the minor to accompany them, but when he refused, an altercation ensued. During the confrontation, one of the boys fired a bullet that struck the victim in the shoulder. "He fell injured on the ground and after being brought to the hospital, he was declared dead," Tirkey added.

The police have identified some of the suspects, and the investigation is ongoing. "The names of some of the accused have come to light. Further investigation on the case is on," Tirkey said.


In a separate incident on Thursday, a 28-year-old man named Sumit, who worked in a tour and travel business, was stabbed to death in Gamri Extension, Bhajanpura. The attack occurred during a verbal altercation with three to four boys while Sumit was sitting in the street. He sustained 17 injuries and was pronounced dead at JPC Hospital.
