Members of the Nadeem gang include Nadeem (28), Radhey Shyam (22), Parveen (20), Mohinder Singh (35), Deepak Khatana (22), Sooraj Chaudhry (22) and Om Prakash (53). "Stolen goods worth Rs 4 lakh have been recovered from their possession. An Innova vehicle used for committing robberies was seized from them,'' said S S Yadav, DCP (north-east).
Nadeem was released from Tihar Jail in December last year. Soon after his release he formed a new gang.
Acting on tip-off that Nadeem Kallu along with his aides would come to a wine shop on Bhagwan Pur Khera Loni Road in Delhi on a white Innova on January 27, police laid a trap and nabbed all the gang members.
"The Kallu gang used to mainly target people dealing in copper or other valuable articles so that the stolen goods could be disposed of easily. Kallu was also involved in several cases of robberies including the snatching of a Ford Fiesta at Dhaula Kuan and looting of a truck carrying garments near Karnal Road and another cargo truck carrying goods worth Rs 25 lakh from Ghaziabad after he came out of jail.
The five members of the Majid gang have been identified as Majid (35), Mehtab (35), Ajay (24), Rahul (22) and Nawab (22). "With their arrest we have solved three sensational cases of highway robberies that took place at at Dhaula Kuan and Mohindra Park in Delhi and at Kotwali in Loni (Uttar Pradesh),'' said Yadav.
