DEHRADUN: The state police department is organizing a five-day skill enhancement training for investigating officers on cybercrime at

The first phase of the

workshop

was inaugurated by director general of police (DGP) Anil

Raturi

on Monday. Around 200 investigating officers, including young sub-inspectors, inspectors, deputy superintendents of police and additional superintendents of police would get training on how to deal with emerging types of cybercrime.

DGP Raturi said that the era of digitization has benefited us by providing us various digital platforms, but increasing cases of digital fraud have made work of police challenging.

According to inspector general of police (IG) Special Task Force (

STF

) Deepam Seth, “This is the first phase of skill enhancement training programme. It would be held in five phases and a total of 800 police officers would be given training on cybercrimes on rotation basis in the next few months.”

The workshop will focus on the latest development in technological and legal aspects of cybercrime investigation. Police officers will be taught theoretical aspects of cyber forensic tools and other technologies used in investigation.
