Woman booked after she sent another girl to undergo physical exam in her place in police recruitment test, her constable husband suspended

Haridwar: A 25-year-old woman, identified as Anjum Zaira, was found using a "replacement" to clear the long jump test during the physical round of police constable recruitment on Tuesday in Haridwar. Zaira had brought her friend 24-year-old Kajal, who is the daughter of a police constable, to clear the physical test on her behalf.
While Kajal managed to escape from the spot, Zaira was caught by police.However, Kajal too was detained by police later in the day.
Meanwhile, Anjum's husband Aslam, who was posted as a constable at Police Lines in Haridwar, has also been suspended by SSP Haridwar for facilitating the "cheating arrangement" in favour of his wife.
A case has been registered against Anjum and Kajal, both residents of Police Lines in Haridwar, and further investigation is underway.
According to police, CO operation Niharika Semwal became suspicious when Anjum Zaira appeared for the third round as for the first two rounds, Kajol had given the test while posing as her friend. CO Niharika Semwal told TOI, “We stopped Anjum and completed the long jump test of other girls. We started questioning her and found that she used a replacement for clearing the long jump test. Later, we handed her over to SIDCUL police.”
Shahzad Ali, SSI SIDCUL police station, told TOI, “A case has been registered against Anjum and Kajal under section 419 (punishment for cheating by personation) of the Indian Penal Code. On the other hand, we are also investigating the role of Anjum's husband in all of this.”
