Dehradun: The Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) appointed former Indian cricketer
Wasim Jaffer as the head coach of the Uttarakhand state cricket team on Monday. The appointment of the right-handed opening batsman was done through a telephonic interview conducted by CAU secretary Mahim Verma. This will be Jaffer’s first stint as the coach of a first-class side.
He had announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in March this year. “Wasim Jaffer has helped Mumbai and Vidarbha in becoming domestic champions. Apart from the domestic success, he has played some excellent knocks in international cricket matches as well. I am quite sure that his experience will come in handy for our state,” said Verma.
