Wanted cattle smuggler held, carried ₹25k reward

Dehradun: Uttarakhand special task force (STF) nabbed a 22-year-old wanted cattle smuggler, identified as one Qasim Hasan, from Kiccha area in US Nagar district on Wednesday late night.
Hasan, a resident of Kiccha, carried a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head and was on the run for about a year. Ayush Agrawal, superintendent of police, STF said, "After receiving a tip-off about his presence in the town, a team of STF was camping there for the last three days to nab him. On Wednesday night, acting on a reliable input, he was surrounded by the cops and arrested before being produced before the local court on Thursday."
He further informed that Hasan was wanted in a case registered under the Uttarakhand Protection of Cow Progeny Act and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and some other related cases.
“He was constantly on the run, after which SSP US Nagar announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. Head constable Govind Singh and ASI Prakash Bhagat played a significant role in nabbing Hasan,” said Agrawal. The STF has so far arrested 24 criminals who were wanted with a reward on their heads, in the last two months. tnn
