CHAMOLI: The Valley of Flowers situated ahead of Joshimath in Chamoli district of the Garhwal Himalayas will close for tourists on Thursday for the winter season. The world-renowned valley which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, is part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and is known for its alpine meadows of high-altitude herbs and flowers. The valley is believed to have over 500 varieties of flowers.
It opens for tourists from June to October every year.
