DEHRADUN: The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF), in its ongoing probe of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) question paper leak case, arrested a man identified as Rupendra Jaiswal on Saturday evening from Lucknow, STF officers said on Sunday.
Jaiswal, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, was the 44th arrest in the case so far.
A property dealer by profession, he carried a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head.
Chandra Mohan Singh, additional superintendent of police, STF, said, "Jaiswal bought the question paper of VDO recruitment exam held in 2021 from Kasan, an employee of Lucknow-based RMS Techno Solutions and sold it to kingpin Sadique Musa for Rs 5 lakh."
During interrogation, Jaiswal claimed that it was the only leaked question paper bought by him with the intention to sell it for easy money. "Jaiswal had come in contact with the arrested accused Rajesh Chauhan, the owner of RMS Techno Solutions Pvt Ltd in 2011. He met Kasan and Musa in 2019 at Chauhan's office in Lucknow. While Musa is already behind bars, efforts are on to nab Kasan who is still on the run," Singh added.
Musa allegedly roped in other accused - Hakam Singh, Chandan Manral, Rajesh Chauhan, and Kendrapal. They allegedly sold the question paper to over 200 candidates for Rs 15 lakh each.
