DEHRADUN: Amid the ongoing probe in the UKSSSC question paper leak case, the STF filed its charge-sheet against 18 accused in the case in the local Dehradun court on Tuesday. The STF had registered a case in the matter on CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s order on July 22 and made the first arrest two days later by nabbing six accused.
Since then it has arrested 41 accused and recovered cash worth Rs 94.79 lakh along with freezing of over 24 bank accounts with around Rs 30 lakh in them.
According to a statement by the state information department, “After filing the charge-sheet, the STF is probing the case to ensure no accused evades police and appropriate legal action is taken for putting the future of the state's youth in jeopardy. Of the 41 accused, police have already booked 21 under the stringent Gangster Act to attach their properties built by selling the question papers of various recruitment exams over the years.”
Among the total arrested accused so far, the STF had claimed the leader of the cheating mafia gang was UP-based Syed Sadique Musa who was nabbed from Lucknow last week. He used to allegedly buy the leaked question papers from the owner of a Lucknow-based private tech firm and one of the arrested main accused
Rajesh Chauhan.
The other prime accused are Hakam Singh, Kendrapal, Chandan Manral and Shashikant.
